A memorable bowl of laksa @ Alexander Village, Bukit Merah.

After a long week of knowledge-testing exercises, i'm finally free (not totally, still got 2 more exercises to go) for a moment of breather..

Someone asked me along (ok, i have owed this appointment slot for a very long period of time already, that's why i had such a good time to slack and relax for a while) for a walk at the shopping malls around Queensway.

Before we set out for our shopping spree, we went for a lunch at Alexander Village, Bukit Merah. There is a particular laksa stall, in the hawker centre, that is the reowned Depot Road Claypot Laksa. You can order either the small one, medium one, or if you are really hungry and dying to taste what real laksa taste like, you can order the big size one. It cost, at most, S$5.

Well, as the name goes, it is served in the form of claypot (I will post the photo of it by next thursday) ad it is hot and spicy. The laksa gravy is thick and rich. It is of no regrets to try the laksa there. Yummy yummy.

Well, but that is not the point of this post. Actually, the reason why i would remember this claypot so well is all because of the following story, real-based story:

There were this good pair of buddies who have known each other for 4years of their seconday school life (let's call them D and Y). Well, they always sit beside each other during lessons. When they were in Seconday 4, D's results actually slipped (he was the top 30 in the school during his sec 3) while Y was still struggling with his physics (he knows nuts about physics but show extreme rare talents in mathematics). All thanks to D's credit, Y managed to 'scrap' through or his physics major and minor examinations.

There was this open house by a JC on one fine day, both of them actually went there to take a look of the JC (their dreams, and they hoped that they could enter this same JC. Hence, they set to work hard for their 'O's).

After that particular open house, D brought Y to this particular Laksa Stall at Depot Road and introduced this Laksa to Y. He enjoyed this bowl of laksa.

Till the 'O's, D had put too much stress on himself, hence, his results was seriously affected. He did not get into the JC ultimately. Y managed to go to another JC.

From then, both good buddies have lost touch. Last heard:" I think D has gone a little bogus. The reason why this bowl of laksa so significant because it brings the memory of him to me. I remember the things that he had done"

The story behind this particular bowl of laksa has touched my heart, and indeed, i guess life is unpredictable. Love your loved ones when they are still there with you, spend more time with time. Show that you care....

Laksa...
